I have spent many years of my life in a quest to find my own sense of purpose and place. This journey has led me to explore various professional positions in immigration law, business, human resource management, and consulting. My training to become qualified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator cause me to learn and grow in significant ways; most importantly it helped me to recognize that my greatest gifts and passions are to help individuals realize their full potential and achieve their own dreams and goals.
In my personal journey I have faced transitions and major transformations – oftentimes by choice, sometimes not. I believe that our lives are too short to stay rooted in a place of unhappiness and dissatisfaction. For me that meant that after 18 years of living in Washington, DC, I decided to move alone to Vermont and start a new life for myself. I understand the discomfort and unhappiness that comes from being in the wrong place personally and professionally. I’ve experienced the anxiety that comes with significant life change and transition. And I’ve also felt the joy and fulfillment that comes from finding one’s place, purpose and passion. With each of my life experiences, I have gained insight and become a stronger, more resilient, and more perceptive person.
I have been coached and understand how coaching makes a difference in a person’s life when they are willing to learn and grow. Most importantly, I am passionately committed to helping my clients achieve their goals.
Philosophy and Style
Coaching is about your whole life. It is big, and important. I have experienced the power of coaching first hand, and my commitment is for you to know the same. I take coaching, and our coaching relationship, quite seriously and with a strong sense of responsibility. Yet I also believe that serious need not always mean heavy, and that there is always room for laughter and joy and playfulness.
My beliefs are rooted in my life experience. I believe that when we appreciate who we truly are and what we offer, we can recognize our unique potential and give voice to our life’s purpose. I have seen how clarity of purpose leads to powerful choices to “own one’s place”, personally and professionally. I know the passion, joy, and sense of freedom that comes from owning and honoring that place. And my passion is to help you make progress towards living yours.
My manner (wish) is to be joyous, optimistic, and idealistic; I don’t embody negativity or cynicism. I am committed to the importance of values, authenticity, and personal responsibility. My style is warm, nonjudgmental, laid back yet honest, open, collaborative, supportive, encouraging, and with a strong appreciation for the joy of the song and dance of life.
Who I coach
My clients are people seeking to know themselves and honor where they belong – professionally and personally. They are people who wish to explore, know, and respect their depths; people who are ready to step into the fullness of their lives and to dance to their own tune, not someone else’s.
My clients include:
- Entrepreneurs brimming with ideas and energies and struggling to maintain focus and discipline.
- Writers looking for structured support to help them stay committed to the writing process.
- Individuals in career transition, seeking new positions that honor their gifts, talents, and passions.
- Newly unemployed persons dealing with shock and uncertainty
- Baby boomers who have grown tired with their professional focus and are seeking greater meaning in their lives
- Small business owners seeking clarity around how “next steps” in growing their business
- Young mothers feeling overwhelmed by family responsibilities and searching for their own personal identity
- Individuals and organizational leaders facing the question of “what’s next”, as they consider options for the next stage of their lives.
